Z-Works IoT technology

The Z-Works IoT platform includes three key components – Devices, Cloud analytics, SDK & Apps

Devices

The Z-Works platform currently connects 10 devices with ability to collect over 20 different data types (e.g. presence, vital, temperature) using mainly the Z-Wave communication protocols. Communication from the gateway to the cloud can be done either with cable or with 3G.

Could analytics

The core of the Z-Works platform is the intelligence in the Z-Works cloud (ZIO cloud). The main features today are rule based simple and complex scenario analytics. Data standardization and machine learning will be important to increase added value for our customers over time and we have dedicated members in the team working with this technology.

SDK & Apps

Customers can access data and analytics directly via the ZIO cloud using the AMQP protocol. Reference applications for smartphones and desktops are also available for quick field trials.

In order to make sure that the best possible technology IoT solution is chosen to solve problems for end users, Z-Works offers IoT Consulting services. The service includes advice on appropriate IoT technology use and a Proof of Concept trial kit (PoC kit) for supporting customers to take the first small step to a large scale IoT solution.

The Z-Works platform supports a variety of devices with the ability to collect +20 different data types (e.g. vital data, presence, door open and close). One common denominator for sensors offered on the Z-Works platform is that they are non-wearable devices and mainly are based on the Z-Wave technology. Customers can purchase IoT sensors off the shelf at request.
